2000 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru
QUESTIONING CHAMBERTIN
Lately I had no luck with any top level Chambertins, so much so that my confidence was totally shaken on this top plot from Gevrey Chambertin.
Served double blind, so my opinion was unbiased. Sour cherry nose to the extreme when served, but then it was fast to warp itself into an extremely big and rich bouquet.
Palate was almost similar story; overwhelming sour cherry to boot, and then, boom, total richness, huge wine, dryness and massive tannins. I think this needs 2 decades.
