2005 Chateau Cissac Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois
Despite coming from a stunning vintage of 2005, it did not quite live up to my expectation of the top vintage of the decade. Bouquet was with really ripe and stewed fruits, the bouquet itself implied a big wine, but bouquet has never reflected how a wine was supposed to taste. Body is full of red cherries, with an elevated acidity not quite in harmony with the cherry taste. If I’m blinded with this bottle, I would have thought this could be an Italian wine coming from Tuscany region as the style was reminiscent to Italian.
