2009 Domaine Jean Louis Chave Saint Joseph
EXPECTING MORE....
Coming from a great Northern Rhone vintage of 2009, I was expecting a lot more from a powerhouse JL Chave’s St Joseph wine, but I was mildly disappointed.
A whiff and I could smell the sour acidity from the glass, however it quickly morphed into fruity body. Content caught me off guard completely, as I was really expecting a fruity and balanced wine, but I had neither. Body’s acidity was way too elevated, while the fruits were too thin. Can’t be right as 09 supposed to be good!
