This exceptional single-vineyard wine hails from the elevated reaches of Pierreclos village, nestled on a limestone plateau. It is meticulously crafted using only the fruit from venerable, old vines. The entire vinification process takes place in barrels, with a judicious use of 20% new oak. Following fermentation, which concluded in November, the wine embarked on a barrel aging journey until the ensuing June, marked by regular batonnage. The nose of this wine exudes a refreshing, zesty aura characterized by the essence of freshly zested lemons and the subtle presence of quince. It also bears a hint of flinty minerality and a delicate trace of gun smoke. On the palate, the wine maintains its freshness, boasting an impressive core of vibrant, crunchy fruit at its center. The batonnage process contributes both weight and texture, with delicate notes of wood spice enhancing the tangy fruit profile. This delightful interplay culminates in a long, finely nuanced finish that lingers on the palate, leaving an indelible impression of elegance and depth.
