Wine With Bok - 9.75/10 Stars
1978 was a superb burgundy vintage, almost everything I had from 1978 was stunning, this Richebourg was no difference. Bouquet was with spicy notes, slightly leafy and stemmy, when I re-tasted the wine the next day, bouquet has mellowed down a lot more. Palate was slightly spicy, with loads of red cherries, good length and possessed a clean interface. I retasted the next day and realized the structure was impeccable, with relatively ripe cherries. I’m afraid the downside was that this wine still require another decade or more of cellaring as it was still not ready for full enjoyment yet, as it was still very dry and tannic. Patience will be a virtue for this wine! (8/2020)
