Wine With Bok - 9.25/10 Stars
UNDERRATED
Reporting on a recent vertical tasting of 7 vintages from Pichon Lalande. Following the legendary vintage that is 1982, not a lot of people realize that 1983 was also a superb vintage for the chateau. Greatly shows the feminine characteristics they are well known for. Nose was showing a lot of secondary/tertiary notes such as tobacco and earth. The palate had light red fruits and was extremely silky and balanced! With tannins still around, this can still age more but drinking superbly well now! (11/2017)
Decanter - 97 Points
Awesome, richly textured, powerful still with its ripe yet now-savoury red fruits on display, the sweetness edged out by truffles and spice. A great wine that remains full of life. One of the best Pauillacs in the vintage. (6/2018)
Wine Spectator - 95 Points
Bold pepper, savory and roasted cedar notes lead the way, with a core of steeped plum, macerated black currant and bitter cherry fruit. Extra tobacco, alder and juniper accents stud the finish, which still has plenty of grip. (11/2014)
