2006 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc - 750ml
Wine With Bok - 9/10 Stars
ON FIRE Since Carthaird family took over Smith Haut Lafitte in 1990, the winery was on fire. I keep seeing improvements every vintage since then. They’ve mastered the skill of making great reds and great whites. This white was exceptional, very different from other Bordeaux whites, particularly on the palate whereby this was probably the SOFTEST Bordeaux Blanc I’ve ever had before. Typical of the low acidity of Bordeaux whites, flavor was rich and solid, I was still mesmerized by the soft palate. (1/2017)

Another gorgeous white Graves from this vintage, this wine offers up notes of honeysuckle, lanolin, sweet citrus, and hints of orange peel as well as quince and white currants. It is medium to full-bodied, with fresh acidity, subtle nuances of smoky oak, and a long finish.(2/2019)
James Suckling - 95 Points
I have been enjoying this numerous times this year and it underlines how SHL is clearly in the upper echelon of dry white wine producers in Bordeaux. The wine now shows gorgeous guava and mango character with hints of pineapple and a creamy undertone. It has layers of fruit that change all the time on the palate. The phenolic texture reminds you of a soft red wine but the look and flavors are uniquely Bordeaux. It's all sauvignon blanc and sauvignon vert. Drink now or enjoy in the future. (7/2014)
