The location of "Mont-Main" and "Sourdelle" are to be found in the town of Beines, facing the premier cru "Vau de Vey". It is classed as appellation Chablis. The hillside has an average depth and a North/North-West exposure.
Wine By Bok - 9/10 stars
This plot has nothing to do with the Premier Cru Montmains in Chablis, in fact, one hardly sees any production from this plot of vineyard other than Jean Dauvissat himself. This plot is classified as a village level in Chablis. Annual production of approximately 2,000 bottles. Production stressed on malolactic fermentation significantly. As such, palate is significantly very intense with its flavour, I must confess its very fruit driven, although there’s still acidity lurking behind the fruits, giving the wine a balanced feel. I believe the quality is quite decent despite being just a village level production.
