Fine pale primrose. There is less oak and more weight of fruit here, compared to the Demoiselles, but is it quite as classy? I think so. All in pure white fruit as always with Chevalier, very graceful, not too bony this year, the flesh covers the structure nicely. Extremely pure. Perfectly judged acidity. A very fine example. Allen Meadows Burghound - 95 Points
A cool, pure, airy and overtly spicy nose of various white orchard fruit, citrus and exotic fruit aromas is also trimmed in discreet but perceptible wood influence. The sleek and ultra-refined medium-bodied flavors possess a strikingly gorgeous mouthfeel while exhibiting a discreet minerality on the notably more complex and highly persistent finale. This has the underlying material to easily repay a decade's worth of keeping. (6/2022)
Vinous - 95 Points
The 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is beautifully defined on the nose, very delineated with crushed stone, hints of yellow plum, fern and green apples. Like Colin’s Les Demoiselles, there an unanticipated strictness and linearity here and that translates across to the palate. Very cohesive, nicely poised, though you could argue that it does not possess the penetration or complexity of a top vintage like the 2017. Still, this should give 15-20 years drinking pleasure.
