Wine With Bok - 9.5/10 Stars

This is the second wine of Chateau La Grangere and is made by 100% Merlot. Vineyards are located along and near the Troplong Mondot with the same exposure as the Château Pavie on the south facing slopes. Surprising bouquet of mineral, almost stainless steel in addition to graphite and carbon, this is my first whiff. I was very impressed with the content, as a sip of it right out of a pop of the cork revealed that there wasn’t any harsh tannins, very rounded and full bodied, very approachable, with great intensity and maturity. EXCITING. The 2016 vintage is yet another exciting new arrival. After decanting, in a glass the rosey-hue color is so attractive, much like rose petals. On the nose, sweet cherry aromas and juicy ripe plums. Once in the mouth, the wine gently melts into an array of flavours, masked with soft layers of tannins. I really enjoyed how the wine integrated well between the fruit and the tannins. Soft and gentle and very comforting. Delicious, this is an easy wine for food match too. A perfect wine to consume at home or take out to share with friends. (3/2020)
