André Clouet and his son Jean-François are the owners and the soul of this domain. Clos de Bouzy, an ancestral vineyard, is an extension of their elegant family domain in the heart of Bouzy. The Clos contains the Clouet family’s most beautiful genetic combinations of Pinot Noir. It is a partly wall-enclosed vineyard behind André Clouet’s facilities in the southwestern part of the village, with a flat location. Le Clos André Clouet is a new born vintage champagne, created by Jean-François Clouet and the result of of the ancient clos planted with Pinot Noir. Only 1000 magnums produced each year.
The ageing of the Cuvées takes place in the Sauternes barriques of the Chateau Doisy Daene, the remuage is manual while the dosed sugars added are within the limits of Brut.
Notes of white fruits to the nose, evolving into brioche, almond and hazelnut. In the mouth it is subtle but powerful, with a creamy bubble and a splendid mineral finish of great length. Le Clos 2011 is suitable for important occasions, refined dinners and sophisticated preparations. Excellent in combination with foie gras.
