2016 Acaibo Trinite Estate - 750ml
Acaibo - Trinité Estate celebrates its inaugural release at la place de Bordeaux, showcasing the 2016 Acaibo wine grape harvest from the Sonoma property owned by Claire & Gonzague Lurton. The harvest was characterized by its early onset, delivering a predominantly normal yield of exceptionally high-quality fruit. Benefiting from welcome winter rains that eased the effects of drought, the growing season that ensued was remarkably even.
The entire ripening period enjoyed cooler-than-average daytime highs complemented by cold nights, creating optimal conditions for crafting an inky and complex wine. Situated across 24 acres between the cool Russian River, warm Alexander Valley, and Knights Valley at an elevation of 750 feet, the vineyard boasts volcanic ash and clay soils.
In terms of vinification, small lot fermentation occurs in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, featuring a four-day cold soak followed by alcoholic fermentation. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels. Embracing organic farming practices, the estate employs only two irrigations before véraison and harvests rainwater.
The aging process involves 16 months in Bordeaux-style French Oak barrels, with 80% of the barrels being new oak. This meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking reflects the commitment of Acaibo - Trinité Estate to producing wines of distinctive quality and character.
