L'Infernal Riu Rouge is produced in the Priorat region of Catalonia, Spain, an area known for its rugged terrain and exceptional quality wines. The vineyards are planted on steep slopes with a unique soil composition of slate and quartz, known locally as "llicorella," which contributes to the wine's distinctive minerality and complexity.

The winery, L'Infernal, was founded by three renowned French winemakers: Laurent Combier, Peter Fischer, and Jean-Michel Gerin. Their aim was to create wines that express the unique terroir of Priorat while incorporating their expertise and experience from France's Rhône Valley. The 2018 vintage of Riu Rouge is a testament to their commitment to quality and their innovative approach to winemaking.

The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a meticulous selection process to ensure only the best fruit is used. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in French oak barrels for added complexity and depth. The result is a wine that beautifully balances power and elegance, showcasing the best of Priorat's terroir.

A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Carignan. A spicy, fruity wine that perfectly expresses the wonders of its terroir. The wine exhibits finesse thanks to a blend of Garnacha, Syrah, and Cariñena from granite and slate soils in Torroja. It fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and was aged in neutral, well-seasoned 500-liter French oak barrels for 12 months. There is no apparent oak flavor, and the wine is fruity, floral, and fresh, with good maturity at 14% alcohol. The palate is juicy, well-balanced, and features some powdery tannins that make it perfect for pairing with food.
