Scents of crisp Anjou pear, citrus oil, warm bread and nutmeg introduce the 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Combottes Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy wine that's elegantly textural but racy, exemplifying the charm of which this appellation and this vintage are capable. It was vinified in 350-liter barrels, which seems to have been a good choice. (2/2020)

Ripe and fresh aromas speak primarily of white-fleshed fruit aromas that are trimmed in soft citrus nuances that can also be found on the caressing but punchy middle weight flavors where the delicious if somewhat simple finish is shaped by lemon-tinged acidity. (6/2020)
