2018 Tenuta Tignanello 'Marchese Antinori' Riserva Chianti Classico DOCG - 750ml
Wine With Bok - 9/10 stars
Composed of mostly Sangiovese grapes along with Cabernet Sauvignon and slight amount of other complementary grapes, the grapes came from Tenuta Tignanello vineyards itself. Bouquet is affirmative cherry along with a hint of raspberry as well as berries and plums, very ripe and forward. Content wise, it’s a very smooth and silky wine, lively and easy going. A very simple and straight forward wine that’s hugely different from it’s big brother Tignanello. I wish there are more complexity and tannins in this wine, thus it’s obvious the wine is made for early consumption and not a wine that you can age. (9/2023)

A tight, fruity red with black-cherry and blueberry aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied with chewy yet fine-grained tannins. Love the polish and focus. Driven and linear.

Cherry, black currant and raspberry flavors are at the heart of this red, flanked by vanilla, toasty oak, mineral and tobacco elements. There is a beam of ripe fruit and dusty tannins right through the long finish. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

This wine is made exclusively with fruit from the gorgeous Tenuta Tignanello in San Casciano Val di Pesa (home to its namesake wine Tignanello, and Solaia) and sees mostly Sangiovese blended with a smaller part Cabernet Sauvignon and other complementary grapes. The Marchesi Antinori 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori vaunts a smooth and silky personality with ample berry definition and brightness. That fruit is framed by light spice (from Hungarian and French oak) and licorice.
