2019 Haut Batailley Verso - 750ml

This is the second wine of fifth growth classification Haut Batailley. 2019 is a great Bordeaux vintage, thus it’s very difficult to produce poor Bordeaux wines. This wine is made of primarily 70% cabernet sauvignon and 30% merlot. The expression is very classic Pauillac style, slightly stemish and vegetal due to the greenish cabernet sauvignon. The wine has slightly elevated acidity, although the softness and roundness of Merlot tame it down and make the wine more balanced and pleasant. (7/2023)

The wine revels in fruit. With a fine, stylish character, the second wine of this estate is juicy and full of black currant flavors. It will age well over the medium term. (10/1/2022)
