Wine With Bok - 9.25/10 Stars
This wine really has a very interesting expression of winemaker’s skills as well as the terroir. The blended wine comes from very large terroirs of the communes of Vergisson and Fuisse. On the Vergisson side, grapes came from 1er Cru plot called Crays, whereas from Fuisse, the grapes came from Vernays, a favorite plot of mine (read my notes on “Verget, Pouilly-Fuisse, Les Vernays, 2018”). Bouquet of pear and orange oil. Content wise, I didn’t really enjoy my initial sips, there has not been much to describe. However, as I drank from the bottle throughout the night, I realized the wine stood out with a definitive character – orange juice! In fact, the wine also made up of some orange skins and orange zests, making it very interesting to taste. It’s a very fun experience exploring such an unchartered terroir. (7/2023)
Decanter - 92 points
This impressive, weighty wine is blended from premier cru Les Crays along with bits of Haut de la Roche and Les Vernays (in Fuissé) that are not in premier cru. The wine boasts lush apple and apricot fruit aromas along with hints of butter, honey, and exotic spice. The texture is almost decadently opulent, with an almost tangible sense of phenolics and the ageing on the lees. Complex and rich, this wine will please some tasters and scare others, yet it is a strong example in a classic style. (Nov 2022)
