Wine by Bok - 9.5/10
Out of all the Guffens collections we’ve tasted, this one stands out as an undeniable star, earning a high 9.5/10 rating. The 2022 Macon Pierreclos 1er Jus De Chavigne is nothing short of spectacular—a wine that strikes a profound chord with its remarkable transparency and clarity.
Upon first approach, the bouquet opens with a captivating interplay of fresh, ripe lemon, complemented by a subtle touch of oak that adds depth without overshadowing the fruit. Yet, the true magic of this wine unfolds on the palate. Initially, it presents itself as a seamless harmony of vibrant acidity and lush fruit, but with each sip, you begin to realize that there’s more beneath the surface. The stunning clarity and purity reveal themselves, offering an experience that’s not just harmonious but deeply authentic.
This is a wine that speaks directly to the soul, almost as if it’s confiding, "I am a frank, gentle, and sincere companion." Each sip resonates with a sense of honesty and warmth, making it a truly memorable experience. It's a rare find—a wine that embodies both elegance and depth, leaving a lasting impression.
Simply put, this is an exceptionally well-crafted wine that’s bound to impress even the most discerning palate. A must-buy for those seeking both finesse and soul in their glass.

The 2022 Mâcon-Pierreclos 1er Jus de Chavigne is a brilliant young wine in the making, unfurling in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and crisp stone fruit, thrown into relief by subtly exotic top notes. Medium to full-bodied, racy and tensile, it's concentrated and incisive, concluding with a chalky, almost electric finish. Chavigne always over-performs in warm vintages, and 2022 is no exception. The 2022 Premier Jus is just fantastic, managing to be both deep and serious, yet joyful and full of flair. The nose is bold, juicy and ripe with notes of peach, mango and and confit citrus. There is a light smokiness of reduction and a layer of sophisticated, subtle wood smoke, but the fruit is what shines through. The palate is silky smooth with broad, fleshy orchard fruits. The striking acidity brings depth, taming the exuberance and bringing great focus to the wine. Lightly smoky with wood spice and flint throughout, this is a brilliant effort from barrel at this very early stage; with full elevage it should be even better. The screws tighten on the finish with a hit of acidity and waves of ripe fruit. This has great promise. (3/2023)
