San Osvaldo

The origins of the San Osvaldo winery date back to the 1930s, when Baron Lajos Babos (1884-1968), former admiral of the Austro-Hungarian navy, decided to settle in the easternmost corner of Veneto, on the border with Friuli. Babos himself, having fallen in love with the region, founded a winery in Loncon di Annone Veneto, a name which recalls the patron saint of the small hamlet, Oswald of Northumbria. Continued first by his daughter Bibi, the business then passed to the Zoppas Group in the 1980s, after a period of great fame which began in the 1950s. Taken over by the Serena family in 2004, San Osvaldo has now a new lease of life, describing the territory and its values through a story of love and dedication to its wines which is directly linked to what Babos started at the beginning of the last century.
