At 70 years of age, this was definitely not your sexy young girls anymore, but it did behave like one. The last time I had a 47 was the legendary Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion. Tonight I told myself I wanted to end 2017 in a memorable way, thus this bottle.
The subject line was borrowed from Robert Parker’s remark on this wine. The nose was sublime, with superb elegant fine oak, like a beautiful Cuban cigar. Palate was young, matured fruits possessing power and elegance, although with high acid.
