1953 M.Doudet Naudin Charmes Chambertin
How often you get to try a burgundy that's 61 yrs old? It's a totally unique and different experience. My learning is that, unlike Bordeaux, every aged burgundy is different experience. This one puts the matured nose with smoke and ripe fruits. The palette is even more shocking; intense, thick, rich and when it enters the palette, the wine just melts like an ice cream, try imagining that! Coupled with low alcohol, very matured fruits, it's a real pleasure to drink an aged burgundy.
