1961 Chateau Clinet Pomerol
It's been a while since I had a 61, having fond memories of it I had this bottle with my wife for Valentines Day. The debate of decanting an old wine or not, I still went ahead and decanted as 61 is a powerful vintage. The typical character of strong tobacco leaves and coffee hits me immediately, showing full monte of Pomerol style. Similarly for palette the richness, depth and roundness blew me off, really enjoyable. It started to dry up 3 hours later in the decanter. Such is the power of a good vintage!
