1961 Pichon Lalande Pauillac
MILDLY DISAPPOINTED Lalande was my favorite label, and 61 was my favorite vintage, was expecting fireworks but unfortunately it didn't happen. I stood the bottle up for a week, but still end up very murky when served (as I had to drive to the restaurant with it, I guess it really disturbed the sediments), so it was somehow bottle shock. The wine was rich and fruity, with loads of leathery characters. But it didn't live up to the explosive expectations of a Lalande (like the 59, 70 or 75).
