1962 Francois Lamarche Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru
AGED BURGUNDY
It's really some luck to find a good bottle of aged burgundy. Pinot Noir is way too fragile to age well. This bottle had perfect provenance, and yet it still didn't live up to the expectations. Luck wasn't on my side every time. Very borderline drink ability (slightly cooked), aged and perhaps over the hill on the nose. However the palette was surprisingly still elegant, relatively sweet and tasted like raisins (a sign of cooked wines). Better luck next time!
