1970 Leoville Poyferre Saint Julien
I have a stained cork bottle for tasting. The wine began with nose of olive, prominence of sourish plum, earthy and wet soil nose. As it's a bad bottle, the fruits are diminishing but with a lot of bright acidity. I was not persuaded so I left it in the decanter for a while. A nice surprise is mellow fruit surface after 20 minutes of decanting, thereafter elegant fruits and coffee, it came alive! I can imagine if it's a good bottle, this wine will be much lush, thick and fruity!
