1971 Borgogno Barolo
3RD GIACOMO TONIGHT... Seems to be a popular label for wine connoisseur collectors, coz 3 out of 8 bottles we tasted tonight were from Giacomo Borgogno. Bottle condition was not 100% pristine with very slight oxidation on the nose, plus it was extremely medicinal, feels like smelling a cocktail of antibiotics in a container. Apparently this label's character is sour plum (as noted in the 65 too), elevated acidity but somehow lacks fruits, and prominently displaying sour cherries character.
