1971 Conterno Barolo
720ml?
This 1971 bottle only had 720ml instead of the typical 750ml volume. Why was it so? I had no clue! Please enlighten me!
Wasn't much to my liking, extremely musty nose that blew off quickly after a short time in the glass. It was extremely sour on first sip, totally sour cherry character. However it only took 15 minutes to have the sourness morphed into ripe fruits and readiness. Good effort although I believe the provenance of the bottle wasn't pristine.
