1971 Leoville Las Cases Saint Julien
PARTICIPANTS
In 1976, there was a battle between American and French wines, it was called Judgment of Paris, whereby many judges were fooled by the American wines thinking they were French. This Las Cases was one of the participants of Judgment of Paris.
Nose of Lavender, soapy, substantial nose. Palate was slightly acidic, woody, fruity and lush. Not much of a punch. This was served blind to me and I have firmly thought it was a French wine. The judges do need more education during that period.
