1974 Gaja Sorì San Lorenzo
ELEGANT ROSES
I finally understood why Gaja was famous after tasting this single vineyard wine, even though it came from an average vintage, it still kicked all other Piedmont wines so hard , nothing came close.
Shockingly big, cherry driven nose, ripe and forward. Palate was very ripe, with loads of cherries, rich and most importantly the extreme elegance of the wine was so memorable it totally melted my heart. When I finally finished my wine, I was surprised to find rose petal bouquet still lingering.
