ELEGANCE
Known as the Queen of Bordeaux, does it live up to it's expectations? Certainly, given any vintage of Lafite, if you cannot detect the elegance of the wine, you definitely need to drink more. Coming from a below average vintage, Lafite 74 still possessed the elegant character, almost like an aged burgundy wine, although a bit dirty and musty and a bit woody as well, it held up very well in the glass for at least 2 hours without showing a sign of weakness. Certainly at or past it's prime.

Sorry I hv no label to show, as the label on this magnum had gone missing when I received the wine. Extremely perfumed nose, almost like a burgundy nose, slight orange rind nose. The color is so light, like a light brick. Palette is lively, easy, pleasant and almost like orange juice. It's s pity for Lafite, as 70s is the darkest moment for Lafite Rothschild.
