1975 Cos d'Estournel Saint Estephe
Half full or half empty?
I always stress that 1975 was a great Pomerol vintage. This was probably not a great vintage for St Estephe, as Cos d’Estournel 75 was slightly struggling to perform. No matter how good or bad the wine is, it retained the pedigree of Cos d’Estournel style. Bouquet of moderately heavy tea leaves, and slightly elevated acidity. Content remained divided, on one hand the high acidity was quite irritating to me. On the other hand, the typical latte, mocha and milk tea style of Cos d’Estournel was obviously present. Thus I enjoyed this portion of the wine rather than the elevated acidity.
