1975 Pichon Baron Pauillac
MY OPINION ON AGED BARON..
I collect a lot of aged Bordeaux, and I had tasted many vintages of Pichon Baron. The characters do not change much over the years, in fact I can see similarities between 1961 and 2005, almost the same style. I hope they can keep it up! I get an initial funk, quickly decanted it to clear the funk away, and it did. It was more pleasant thereafter: cigar box, vanilla nose. The palette was a bit dry herbs, even though it's still showing a powerful, domineering chauvinist character.
