1976 Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion
Not the best Cheval Blanc Saint Emilion I ever had, but still a great Cheval given the not so great vintage. The room was filled with floral fragrance when we decanted the wine, makes drinking it irresistible already. Palette is the expected pleasant, easy going and balanced style of this hallmark label. The floral nose lasted throughout the whole dinner, although the palette gets a bit grassy and losses a bit of charm towards the 3 hr mark, but this is forgiveable given its difficult vintage.
