1978 Bart Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru
FIRST BART
Never had nor even heard of Andre Bart, pardon my poor burgundy knowledge. So this was my first bottle and it was a grand cru! What an honor. Served blind. Nose was smokey. Body was young, fresh strawberries, extremely acidic and sharp. The wine mellowed down after sitting in the glass for a while. I much preferred the Grivelet Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes 78 served next to it but majority chose this bottle as their wine of the flight, of which I was still puzzled by it.
