1978 Chateau Figeac Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe
I don’t recall drinking many Figeac in the 70s, except for the superb 75. This 78 is very classic and traditional Bordeaux style, very old fashion and backwards.
Nose was full of molded dry vegetables (Chinese called it Mei Cai), some green bell peppers too. Palate was obviously traditional, slightly elevated acidity and dried fruits. A bit fading in taste. Suggest drinking it up now.
