1978 G. Vachet Rousseau Mazis Chambertin
A GREAT VINTAGE
I drank many Red Burgundy of 78 vintage, most are of great qualities. One can argue that maker should come first, as Burgundy vintages are not so important compared to Bordeaux, but I must confess this was a tough logic, depending on whether the cup is half empty or half full.
Nose of very fresh strawberry field. Palate has this very bright acidity, again very strawberry like, has got very good depth, very ripe, and still have some grips! Good length and friendly. Kudos to the non existent maker.
