1978 Georges Lignier & Fils Clos De La Roche Grand Cru
The nephew of Hubert Lignier, he didn't make wines like his uncle. However, the 78 CdlR was a good effort by Georges Lignier. Started off with smokey nose, more like a roasted strawberry coming out from the oven, and keeps getting more intense as time goes by. On the palette, we get loads of red fruits like strawberries, dense and intense. It lasted throughout the whole dinner and I think it can last a few more decades ahead of it. That's what a great vintage is for!
