1978 M. Chapoutier Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne
GREATEST FRENCH ‘78 7/7
I organized the best of the best French wines ‘78 and confined it to Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone only. Trying to find what region produced the best ‘78. All served double blind.
This was the runner up from behind today. The style was simply beefy. From the nose it possessed this hunk character of big and beefy style. Palate was not as big, however the acidity was high, I believe the fruits were on the downhill fading away. Seriously nothing exciting about this wine.
