1978 Vieux Chateau Certan Pomerol
Was drinking too much Pomerol lately with high expectations. This one did disappoint me a little. First, it was only a 2 out of 5 star Ponerol vintage (but I had a really great Trotanoy 78, so my hopes were high). The nose was screaming dried leaves & dried tobacco. First sip, I find the acidity too high and the wine a bit too dry, thus I decanted the whole bottle. 1.5 hrs later, the wine is rounder, but not much Pomerol characters, still a bit dry. I was mildly disappointed that I didn't hv a surprise.
