1979 Chandon de Briailles Corton Grand Cru Blanc
RED GRAPES TERRITORY
Corton in Cotes de Beaune is traditionally a red grapes producing territory, white grapes like Chardonnay is very rare, perhaps except Corton Charlemagne, thus growing white grapes in a traditionally red grapes territory is rare.
But this white wine did very well. Nose of mixed pomelo and tangerine. Very drinkable and flavorful with huge amounts of butter taste, plus very olive oil texture, with a bit of baked lemon and obvious tangerine flavor. Surprised it lasted 38 years!
