1981 Pichon Lalande Pauillac
KILLING ME SOFTLY
Wasn't having very high expectations of this vintage's Lalande, as I just had a totally disappointing La Lagune 81 last night. Nose of vegetables was already turning me off, as I am relating it to green and unripe, perhaps even on the downhill!
Surprisingly the content was extremely mellow and soft, and without the irritating tannins, totally integrated into the wine, while the fruits were still lively and pleasant, an awesome composition! I paired it with BBQ lamb's kidney, killer!
