1983 Chateau Leoville Las Cases Saint Julien
DRYING UP
Tasted this bottle blind for a strong lineup of many good Bordeaux 83 wines. Probably not a Saint Julien vintage except for Poyferre. Las Cases did it as an average wine.
Surprisingly clean nose with deep dark cherries, a bit sour and ripe, barnyard and tobacco leaves.
The palate was drying up fairly quickly, I don't know if it's the bottle or in general, although it was rather smooth, easy and pleasant to drink, with loads of cherries, and turning into prunes thereafter.
