1983 Leoville Poyferre Saint Julien
IGNORED
Leoville Poyferre was like an abandoned kid amongst the three Leovilles in Saint Julien, hardly ever had any attention paid to it. As a second growth, it does possess its charm and beauty, may not be the best, but certainly not the worst lot in the Bordeaux 83 blind tasting.
It was ripe and floral on the nose (where's the coffee?). Content wise it was really elegant and pleasant and easygoing wine. I'd pay a little more attention over this label than the over rated and overhyped Leoville Las Cases.
