1985 Chateau Figeac Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe
BORDEAUX 85 TASTING 7
We held a tasting of Bordeaux 85 today with a blend of left and right bank: Mouton Rothschild, Leoville Las Cases, Gruaud Larose, Ducru Beaucaillou, La Lagune, La Gaffeliere, Figeac and Certan de May.
Did it deserve a RP86? Vigorously no was my answer, perhaps a 92 to me. It didn't go downhill like Parker has predicted, instead, I find it fresh, and still some tannins lurking around! The fruits were slightly harsh but it was mellow, very approachable. A controversial label.
