1985 Clos du Val Cabernet Sauvignon

Clos du Val is famous since it was a Napa Valley wine showcased in the Judgement of Paris. This was a whole lot better than the BV 1987. Nose had loads of dark fruits, blackberry, cedar wood, smoke and vanilla. Palate had dark cherries, integrated tannins and medium finish. Overall a decent wine that can still age for a bit but not for long anymore.

NAPA’S LIGHTNESS 纳柏的轻柔
My impression of Napa’s Cabernet Sauvignon was usually big and robust, and full bodied. Surprisingly this bottle was light and easy, without looking at the label I swear it was Merlot based! Nose was fairly muted, with a clinical smell, plus slightly minty. Body was extremely light, easygoing. Was shocked to learn that it was produced by Cabernet Sauvignon grapes!
在我印象最，纳柏的酒通常都是酒体丰满的大气酒。没有想到的是，这瓶却不一般，非常清淡和平易近人。我当时猜想应该是梅洛的葡萄品种。香味有点药房的味道，然后薄荷。酒体太过清淡和容易喝了。我真的没有想到品种竟然会是赤霞珠红葡萄！大跌眼镜了！
