1985 Georges Lignier & Fils Clos De La Roche Grand Cru
RELATIONSHIP
Georges Lignier is the nephew of the famed Hubert Lignier, who produced one of the best Clos de la Roche. However, guess the winemaking skills won't be shared even though they are related, cause I see a vastly diversified style of the wine.
Hubert's wine is big, structured and great depth. Georges style was quite the opposite: silky, elegant and light, totally different from Hubert's style despite coming from the same plot of land. Having a great vintage didn't help Georges much.
