1985 Les Forts de Latour Pauillac
The second wine of Latour did not disappoint during the 1985 horizontal vintage tasting. But despite it being a good wine, it really brings to light that it is just a second wine and not good enough to be the best wine of a chateau.
Intoxicating bouquet of earth, herb spices and cigar smoke. Palate was full bodied with refreshing acidity and still with firm tannins. Despite the big nose, the palate did not live up as much as it was not as concentrated and a bit leaner than expected. Still very enjoyable and drank it till the last drop!
