1986 Chateau Figeac Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe
GOOD BUT NOT GREAT
Figeac, a label that's always controversial by Parker due to his personal dislike for this label, was not offending to me when I drink it blind. After drinking so many vintages, I cannot even find a bottle that I would rate it below 90, not to mention Parker consistently rated it in the 80s. Time to challenge Parker to a blind tasting!
Nose was seductive with faint oak and beautiful. Content maybe a bit simple and woody, it made it up with elegance. Perhaps on the downhill already.
