1986 Jean Boillot Fils Monopole Clos De La Mouchere Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru
BOILLOT LEGEND
Jean was Henri's father, has been producing this Monopole plot Clos de la Mouchere as long as I can remember. This 86 was the oldest vintage I have tasted, and I can find the similarities of Henri's production compared to his dad. There's also no sign of tiredness, this 31 year old bottle was still young and fresh. Nose was rich, buttery and slightly cheesy. Body was rich but mellow, nice, great balance, honey, albeit a bit one dimensional. Was told 86 wasn't a great white burgundy year.
