1987 Mongeard Mugneret Richebourg Grand Cru
POOR VINTAGE
My friend who brought this bottle was hoping to pull a miracle since this was a decent winemaker and a great plot despite the not so hopeful vintage. Indeed red burgundies are full of miracles, but normally on the negative side. This one didn't give any surprises, although it wasn't entirely hopeless.
Nose was flat and very faint wood (rather than oak). Still possessing a lot of grips, moderately dry, sharp and even a bit salty. Learned my lesson not to expect miracles from red burgundies.
